MSU late registration students forced to defer

MSU late registration students forced to defer. The Midlands State University (MSU) is reportedly forcing students who failed to meet the 3 August registration deadline to defer studies.

Thousands of students failed to meet the deadline as the learning institution was demanding full fees by the 3rd of August at the backdrop of a receding economy worsened by the COVID-19-induced lockdowns.

Students were reportedly planning to protest against the development but their representatives were urging them to find amicable solutions. In the meantime, various WhatsApp groups have been created to act as a platform for affected students to send their details so that that they can be allowed to write “special examinations.”

The special examinations will be written after other students would have written their exams. Students Representative Council (SRC) representatives said special examinations are in the institution’s constitution and are meant to accommodate students who cannot write normal examinations emphasising that they are “not supplementary” examinations. WhatsApp groups are being created by the Students Representative Council (SRC).
