Doka celebrates birthday in style

United Kingdom-based Zimbabwean gospel musician Jane Doka celebrated her birthday yesterday and showed her gratitude to the creator and her growing multitude of followers, she released a single titled “Munochengeta”.

The single, which is a follow up song to the chart-topping “Gore Remakomborero” released in March this year, is part of Doka’s structured music project titled “The Faith Project” through which she is taking gospel music lovers on a journey of faith and trust in God.“Munochengeta is a song of praise to the Lord Almighty for His protective hand and His faithfulness to us,” she said.

“It is an acknowledgement that God’s word where it says, ‘I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread,’ Psalms 37:25 NIV, stands true even in these very trying times we are in,” she said.

“As I celebrate another year through all the challenges of life, this is my gift to the fans and a show of gratitude to the maker.”

Doka said it was important that Zimbabweans continued to hold on to their faith through the challenges of life because no situation was permanent.

“We are confessing and believing that we are not forsaken, not abandoned, not forgotten because God is faithful,” she said. “God loves his people and he loves Zimbabwe even amidst all the challenges.
