REGGAE and dancehall songstress Tiny “Allanah” Machivenyika is devastated following the death of her mother.
Allanah’s mother Lynn Mutero died yesterday at local hospital after a short illness.
She was aged 49.
She is survived by two daughters.
Speaking to H-Metro Entertainment & Lifestyle, Allanah Allanah who rose to prominence after featuring in Poptain’s club banger Fadza Mutengi, described her late mother as a role model.
“She was an amazing woman, my mentor, and to be where and to be what I am today it is because of her; I learnt many lifelong lessons from her.
“My mother had always been supportive of my music journey and it is from her support that gave me strength to pursue my career in the music industry,” she said.
Prior to this interview, Allanah’s management had shared the songbird’s grief on her social media handles.
She wrote:
“Alanah’s management would like to inform members of the public and the entertainment fraternity at large on the untimely passing of Allanah’s dear mother this morning in Harare. Funeral arrangements will be advised soon.”
Mourners are gathered at House No. 17 Tsambatsi Road in Zengeza.
Burial arrangements were still sketchy at the time of going to print.
